The full set, and the only one with a rule. A 14 by 6.5 inch walnut board carries three milled wells and a rebate along the back edge for a 12 inch brass straightedge, bevelled on one side to draw against and marked at the inch. A brass pen rest sits at the head, a brass card tray at the corner, and a brass-and-walnut letter knife lies in its own slot. The board is 1.25 inches thick, planed by hand and eased at the corners. All up the set weighs 5 pounds 6 ounces, which is the reason nothing on it slides. Oil and wax finish. Re-oil the wood through the dry months and let the brass go brown.
