Description
A single flat sleeve, 11 by 8 inches inside, sized to take a 7.5-minute quad folded in eighths without bending the corners over. The body is 18 oz waxed duck. The flap and the reinforcing strip along the mouth are bridle leather from a tannery in Oklahoma, with edges burnished rather than painted, so there is no coating to crack off. One solid brass snap closes it. Two brass D-rings sit at the top corners for a strap, sold separately. Bar tacks at the mouth and at each ring. It adds about eight ounces empty and carries flat against a pack’s back panel. Wax the body when the creases go grey; cream the leather once a season.
