Description
Three pieces on a 12 by 5.5 inch walnut base with two wells cut into the top, a deep one for the cup and a shallow one for cards. The cup is turned from 1.5 inch brass bar, bored out, and left with the turning lines showing around the outside. The letter knife carries a brass blade ground on one edge and walnut scales pinned through with brass rod, and it sits in a slot cut along the front edge of the base so it does not wander off the desk. Where the stock allows, the walnut is taken from one board so the grain runs through the set. Felt underneath. Oil yearly; the cup rim browns first.
