Description
Three pieces at 24 inches: poker, shovel and brush. The steel is hot-forged mild bar, tapered by hand at the working end and finished in blackened wax, which is a thin sacrificial coat rather than paint and will wear at the grip first. The handles are wrapped in harness leather and stitched. The set rolls into a harness leather carrier with a tie strap, so it travels out to a fire ring instead of standing by a hearth. Rolled, it measures 25 by 6 inches and weighs 4 pounds 2 ounces. Knock the soot off with the brush and wipe the steel down after a wet night. Surface rust comes off with steel wool and a little oil.
