Description
A square body instead of a folding tube. Four panels of solid brass are soft-soldered at the corners and one of them is a hinged door glazed with flat glass, so a candle can be lit and trimmed without lifting the top off. It measures 4 inches on a side and stands 9 3/4 inches to the top of the bail. Inside sits a sprung socket for a 7/8 inch candle under a pierced crown that carries the heat out. The brass is brushed rather than left straight off the roll, which shows a fingerprint less at the start and evens out as the surface darkens. Each glass panel is held by four screws and can be swapped. It leaves Albuquerque within two business days.
