Description
Second in the run, 2 3/4 inches long, with a wider throat than the small one and a gate that opens to 3/8 of an inch. That takes a strap end, a doubled cord or the bail of a candle lantern. Same solid brass, drawn from the same Connecticut rod stock, but the faces are worked with a fine wire wheel so the surface reads soft grey-gold in flat light. Brushed brass patinas in streaks along the grain rather than all at once, which some people prefer to an even brown. Wipe it dry after a wet day so the seam at the pivot does not go green early. Not for climbing. Weight is 1.7 ounces. Dispatch 0-2 business days.
