Description
Six pieces, and the bag is the difference. The weekender holds forty litres in waxed duck with a full-length brass zipper, bridle handles and an end pocket that takes boots. Inside goes a 66 by 88 inch loomed wool blanket, heavier than anything in the first collection. The lantern is steel and glass, burning lamp oil through a 3/8-inch flat wick behind a stock drawn globe, both sizes carried at any hardware counter. A ten-inch seasoned skillet, a leather-collared 40-ounce canteen and a folding knife with mesquite scales complete it. The mesquite comes from a firewood yard in the South Valley that saves us straight offcuts.
