Description
A thin merino sock cut to a quarter height, sitting just above a low shoe collar. The yarn is 72 percent merino, 26 percent nylon and 2 percent elastic, spun at a small spinning mill in Idaho and knit at 200 needles, which gives a close, even face and no cushioning underfoot. The toe closes with a flat seam so nothing rides across the top. A ribbed band over the instep keeps the sock from creeping down inside a shoe. Cut for warm weather and long walks in the bosque, where bulk is the problem rather than cold. Machine wash cold, tumble low or hang. Wool relaxes when damp and comes back to shape as it dries.
