Description
The entry into the sighting line: a 50 mm brass body with a hinged front sight wire and a rear notch cut into the lid. Line the two up on a landmark and read the bearing straight off the card underneath. That card is printed on aluminum, floated in a glass capsule and graduated every two degrees. Both sights fold flat into a case 2 by 2.2 inches, 0.7 thick, weighing 6.4 ounces closed. The brass is bead-blasted to a satin so it does not throw sun back at your eye. No mirror and no prism, which keeps it quick rather than exact: good to about two degrees held steady. Keep grit out of the hinge and it asks for nothing else.
