Description

The first of four, and the lightest: 2.9 ounces, 3 3/8 inches closed, with a 2 3/8 inch drop-point blade in 154CM ground thin behind the edge. It is a slip joint, so there is no lock. A stiff backspring holds it open and you close it with two fingers on the spine. The scales are black walnut from a hardwood yard in Marion, Indiana, cut on the flat grain, sanded to 400 grit and finished in oil rather than film, so the wood keeps its texture and can be re-oiled at home. Brass pins through stainless liners. Wipe the blade dry after use, put a drop of oil in the joint twice a year, and touch up the edge on a fine stone.
