Description

Our biggest carabiner at 3 3/4 inches and just under 4 ounces of solid brass. The gate clears 5/8 of an inch, enough for a canteen bail, a dog lead or the handle of a steel bucket on a tailgate. We blast the surface with fine glass bead, so it leaves the bench a flat oatmeal grey-gold with no shine at all. Blasted brass takes its patina evenly and slowly, and it hides scratches better than any of the three smaller sizes. It also holds polish poorly, so treat the matte as the finish and let the colour come on. Rinse and dry it after handling salt. This is a utility clip, not climbing gear, and it is not made to carry a person.
