Description
Boot height, over the calf, and the heaviest sock we knit. Fourteen inches of leg from the heel at 144 needles, in a 66 / 32 / 2 blend of merino, nylon and elastic, with terry from the toe to the top of the ankle. Above that the leg switches to a 4×2 rib that stays up without a band biting in. The heel, toe and shin all carry a doubled strand. Made for cold mornings, a tall boot and a day that starts before the sun clears the Sandias. A pair fills out a loose boot noticeably, so allow for that when sizing. Wash cold, dry low. At this weight the wool takes a full day to air dry.
