Description
Three blocks, 25 inches square, on 4.6-ounce cotton. The blocks go down in sequence and the third overlaps the second, so where they cross the cloth reads as a fourth tone that was never mixed. The pattern runs edge to edge with no border, a grid of arroyo lines cut from a photograph of the West Mesa. The hem is rolled by hand and slip-stitched, which leaves no topstitch on the face of the cloth. Folded to a triangle it is wide enough to tie over the mouth in a spring blow. Cold wash, hang dry, press from the back if you want it flat. The overlap tone lightens first.
